I’ve visited this place twice recently. The signature braised pork belly on rice was delicious—rich in flavour and cooked just right. On my second visit, I tried the signature prawn noodles, which were also very good—the prawns were fresh, and the dish was well-balanced. However, the chicken rice was a bit disappointing—the rice lacked of fragrance, and the chicken was just average.
Portion sizes are decent, and the prices are quite reasonable. I highly recommend visiting on weekdays, as it gets very busy on weekends.

A bit of queue during dinner time.
Chicken rice, the chicken was juicy, tender and absolutely delicious. The only thing I was wondering is separating the sauce from the plate or else by the end, the rice had soaked it all up and became too salty.
Curry noodles, tasty with a nice aroma, though not spicy compared to Malaysian curry. The yellow noodles were a little too soft for my liking.
Still can’t wait to try other dishes on next visit!

Recently visited this place as it looked very appealing when it was getting built and I love the classic Singaporean chicken rice. Although the food was good, it wasn’t up to mark to the classic chicken rice. The soup was bland and rice wasn’t as flavourful. And unfortunately my partner was almost finished with his meal before my meal even came out with no acknowledgement or clarity as to why.
Might wait awhile before I try this place again.

An awesome little eatery serving up authentic Singapore cuisine (“possibly the best chwee kway we’ve tasted in Melbourne”, anyone?) in the heart of Balwyn. Then there’s the awesome chicken rice paired to its perfectly made chilli sauce…Who knew?
Eagerly looking forward to my next visit….

Authentic Singaporean flavors in every bite! The Hainanese Chicken Rice was perfection. A must-visit for anyone craving true hawker-style magic.
